Responsibilities
- Lead substation physical and control design projects of moderate to large scale.
- Provide technical leadership and act as a consultant on specialized technical matters.
- Mentor junior engineers and oversee field engineering activities.
- Develop new or improved designs, techniques, and procedures.
- Create technical documentation including designs, testing, calculations, and reports.
- Coordinate and lead multiple projects, including phases such as research, design, and commissioning.
- Represent the organization as the prime technical contact in bid and evaluation processes.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum.
- 9+ years of relevant engineering experience with PE (Professional Engineer) registration required.
- Ability to demonstrate unique technical skills and core competencies for the engineering level.
- Experience with EHV substation design up to and including 345kV preferred.
- Strong communication skills for resolving technical/business matters.
- Self-directed work ethic with the ability to exercise considerable latitude in technical objectives.
- Experience in budgeting, estimating, and project management related to engineering projects.
