The Electrical Staff Engineer - Solar role at Westwood Professional Services involves supporting electrical engineering aspects of commercial and utility-scale solar projects, coordinating with various engineering disciplines, and performing electrical design and calculations.
Responsibilities
- Support electrical engineering for commercial and utility-scale solar projects.
- Coordinate with civil, geotechnical/structural engineers, and surveyors.
- Perform electrical engineering design and create construction documents.
- Conduct electrical calculations and studies (short circuit, load flow, voltage drop).
- Stay updated on equipment and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with electrical engineering teams across offices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Engineering.
- Knowledge of NEC and NESC.
- Proficiency in electrical power system modeling programs.
- 0-4 years of experience in electrical distribution and construction design.
- Ability to read/create construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Strong communication skills and a positive team-oriented attitude.
