Responsibilities
- Investigate media thermal, optical, mechanical, and magnetic property impacts on media interface.
- Set up component-level evaluation environments to investigate media surface properties and tribology performance.
- Provide analysis support to understand failures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
- Conduct experiments and document findings.
- Analyze data and present results to the team.
- Stay updated with the latest research in tribology and related fields.
Job Requirements
- Ph.D. candidate in material science, physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, optical engineering, or equivalent.
- Knowledge or experience in tribology, interface design, and tribology testing.
- Familiarity with head/media interface and HAMR technology.
- Strong data analytics and statistical skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a positive attitude.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication.
- Expected graduation in 2026.
