Mechanical Engineer II, E-2

The Mechanical Engineer II will contribute to the design and production of the E-2 engine for small launchers at Vast, focusing on optimizing performance and cost while transitioning from development to production.

• Responsible Engineer for valves
• Advance the design of E-2, creating models and drawings
• Collaborate with internal manufacturing to create E-2 parts
• Support assembly and testing of propulsion components
• Create schematics and document processes
• Participate in engine testing and troubleshooting
• Communicate updates on progress and issues to the team

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, development, fabrication, assembly, or test
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently
• Proficiency in CAD (NX preferred) and GD&T
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with ANSYS and MATLAB
• Willingness to work in varied environments and hours as needed
