Hardware Engineer Intern

TRL11, Inc. is seeking a Hardware Engineer Intern to contribute to the development of cutting-edge video technology for the new space economy. The position is in-person and prefers local candidates in Irvine, Southern California.

• Measure and analyze camera components for performance metrics.
• Perform testing and evaluation of image quality for various camera systems.
• Assist with camera hardware testing, PCB board validation, and debugging of electrical components.
• Assemble, inspect, and test mechanical components and enclosures used in camera systems.
• Assist mechanical engineers with CAD drawings.
• Document test results and maintain performance metrics.
• Optimize parameters for 3D printing various prototype materials.

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Exposure to CAD tools (Fusion 360, Onshape, Solidworks, Altium, etc.).
• Familiarity with PCB boards, basic circuit debugging, and lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, and good documentation skills.
• Familiarity with the basic principles of optics and image sensors.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
