Responsibilities
- End-to-end ownership of thermal system designs for Tesla Energy products.
- Component and system mechanical design ownership of compression cycles, coolant systems, and air flow systems.
- Build-to-print mechanical design component design ownership, including high-power actuators and fluidic management devices.
- Develop and execute design validation plans and test methods in collaboration with validation and systems engineering teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine product requirements and specifications.
- Ensure designs meet performance, schedule, cost, reliability, and quality targets.
- Analyze data and define test plans for product adherence to requirements.
Job Requirements
- 3-6 years of product design experience.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Proficiency in CAD modeling, with CATIA V5/6 preferred.
- Experience in designing for high volume assembly.
- Strong understanding of material science and fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in GD&T and development of high-quality drawing packages.
- Strong fundamentals in heat transfer, mechanics, and fluids; thermal FEA and CFD experience preferred.
