Responsibilities
- Design and draft mechanical engineering deliverables as Engineer of Record while ensuring code compliance and high-quality standards.
- Act as the ultimate system owner for various mechanical systems, including HVAC, heat exchangers, and plumbing.
- Review conceptual designs, identify risks, and suggest alternative solutions.
- Develop and improve project workflows and standards for consistent design excellence.
- Participate in on-field construction and commissioning activities, addressing technical questions and real-time issues.
- Interface with external EPC firms during bidding and project execution to meet engineering standards.
- Promote Tesla’s reputation as a cutting-edge company in the automotive industry.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC and Plumbing design, preferably with both owner operators and Design/Consultancy firms.
- Experience with industrial facilities and data centers is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant codes and standards (International Energy Conservation, NFPA, SMACNA).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify technical and financial risks.
- Excellent communication skills for interfacing with external firms and on-site teams.
