Mechanical Design Engineer

Tesla’s Factory Engineering team is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the Texas Gigafactory by designing and optimizing HVAC and utility systems integrated with manufacturing processes. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Austin, TX.

• Design mechanical HVAC systems from conceptual design through construction.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines to ensure project delivery within budget and schedule.
• Research and contribute innovative ideas to solve engineering challenges.

• 3+ years of experience in designing and constructing HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of chiller plants, boiler plants, ductwork, piping, HVAC, and plumbing design.
• EIT certification required; working towards Professional Engineer registration preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Trane Traceand/or Carrier HAP, Pipeflo.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, ASME, ANSI, ISO, ASHRAE).
• Professional design experience in diverse project types preferred.
