Responsibilities

  • Geometry cleaning and meshing in STARCCM for new battery pack architectures.
  • Characterize and develop 3D abuse models for battery cells.
  • Conduct thermal modeling to assess risks of thermal runaway in battery packs.
  • Perform part design sensitivities to aid in design decisions for safety.
  • Analyze data using MATLAB to identify trends in modeling and testing results.
  • Collaborate closely with managers and mentors on critical projects.
  • Gain exposure to life at Tesla through team integration and project involvement.

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in STAR CCM+, ANSYS, OpenFOAM, or COMSOL.
  • Experience with CAD software such as CATIA or Solidworks.
  • Knowledge in thermal modeling, CFD, and numerical methods.
  • Hands-on testing experience and familiarity with multi-physics simulations.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site for a minimum of 12 weeks.
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week, especially for international students.
