Responsibilities
- Geometry cleaning and meshing in STARCCM for new battery pack architectures.
- Characterize and develop 3D abuse models for battery cells.
- Conduct thermal modeling to assess risks of thermal runaway in battery packs.
- Perform part design sensitivities to aid in design decisions for safety.
- Analyze data using MATLAB to identify trends in modeling and testing results.
- Collaborate closely with managers and mentors on critical projects.
- Gain exposure to life at Tesla through team integration and project involvement.
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in STAR CCM+, ANSYS, OpenFOAM, or COMSOL.
- Experience with CAD software such as CATIA or Solidworks.
- Knowledge in thermal modeling, CFD, and numerical methods.
- Hands-on testing experience and familiarity with multi-physics simulations.
- Ability to work full-time on-site for a minimum of 12 weeks.
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week, especially for international students.
