Internship, Thermal Design Engineer, Optimus (Summer 2025)

This internship position is for students pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, focusing on CFD modeling, heat transfer, and fluid flow. The role is based in Palo Alto, CA, and is expected to last from May 2025 through the summer or into fall, requiring full-time, on-site commitment.

• Perform CFD modeling of heat transfer and fluid flow.
• Develop innovative approaches to enhance radiative heat transfer.
• Conduct tolerance analysis, finite element analysis, and simulations.
• Test and validate electronic systems across low voltage electronics.
• Support manufacturing lines and test engineers in problem resolution.
• Create documentation and presentations to communicate findings.
• Collaborate with team members on electro-mechanical product design.

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
• Experience in CFD and developing numerical models of thermal/fluid systems.
• Passion for electro-mechanical product design and problem-solving.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical or thermal testing and data analysis.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and presentation skills.
