Responsibilities
- Design and develop service equipment, tools, and systems for the Tesla Robotaxi.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify service tooling needs.
- Build and test designs, working closely with service and engineering technicians.
- Apply expertise in automation and mechanical design to inform tooling decisions.
- Develop and maintain detailed design documentation, including CAD models and specifications.
- Design tooling and equipment for other vehicle platforms for service centers globally.
- Ensure tooling meets the needs of products through effective design solutions.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in electronics and/or software development is a plus.
- Proficiency in CAD design tools, such as CATIA or SolidWorks.
- Demonstrated experience in developing solutions and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills based on first principles.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, and assembly.
- Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for cost (DFC) principles.
