Internship, Materials Engineering (Summer 2025)

Responsibilities

  • Support the operation of Additive Manufacturing (AM) machines and post-processing.
  • Collaborate with tool design engineers to optimize parts for additive manufacturing.
  • Characterize fabricated parts to understand defects and mechanical properties.
  • Develop and validate complex processes for finishing/coating products.
  • Work with cross-functional teams on process development from concept to production.
  • Conduct materials testing and characterization for various materials.
  • Design and enhance high-pressure die casting dies and collaborate with engineering teams.

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Materials Science or a related field.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD tools (CATIA, SolidWorks, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, thermal, electrical, and physical properties of materials.
  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and materials testing.
  • Familiarity with programming in Python and Matlab is a plus.
  • Ability to work on-site for 40 hours per week.
  • Willingness to promote health and safety in the workplace.
