Internship, Firmware Engineer, AI Hardware (Fall 2025)

The position is for a Firmware Engineering Internship at Tesla, starting around August or September 2025, aimed at students currently enrolled in an academic program. The internship will involve working on various teams including the Dojo AI Supercomputer Fabric Team, Electronic Devices Display Team, and Embedded Firmware Development Team.

• Develop, manage, and test high-radix fabric interconnect systems.
• Work on firmware development for display ICs and electronic system development.
• Manage activities necessary for delivering display systems into Tesla vehicles.
• Develop bare-metal firmware for Tesla products.
• Conduct software testing tools for display systems.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure successful deployment of systems.
• Gain experience in advanced computer architecture and embedded systems.

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Assembly, and/or Python.
• Understanding of real-time operating system (RTOS) principles.
• Knowledge in advanced computer architecture and micro-architecture concepts.
• Familiarity with embedded systems.
• Ability to work full-time on-site for a minimum of 12 weeks.
• Must be able to work 40 hours per week if on CPT authorization.
