Responsibilities

  • Conduct tests on battery cells to determine their electrical, mechanical, and thermal limitations.
  • Support the battery cell abuse team across multiple Tesla programs.
  • Collaborate with engineers to design and execute experimental tests.
  • Analyze test results and provide feedback for design improvements.
  • Work with high voltage components and systems to ensure safety standards.
  • Engage in hands-on assembly, fabrication, and troubleshooting of test systems.
  • Utilize CAD software and programming languages for testing and analysis.

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of heat transfer, combustion principles, and fluid mechanics.
  • Familiarity with battery systems and lithium-ion battery characteristics.
  • Hands-on experience with equipment testing and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in experimental testing in academic or industrial settings.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Catia V5, V6, or Solidworks) and programming languages (LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods for prototyping and testing.
