Responsibilities
- Conduct tests on battery cells to determine their electrical, mechanical, and thermal limitations.
- Support the battery cell abuse team across multiple Tesla programs.
- Collaborate with engineers to design and execute experimental tests.
- Analyze test results and provide feedback for design improvements.
- Work with high voltage components and systems to ensure safety standards.
- Engage in hands-on assembly, fabrication, and troubleshooting of test systems.
- Utilize CAD software and programming languages for testing and analysis.
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of heat transfer, combustion principles, and fluid mechanics.
- Familiarity with battery systems and lithium-ion battery characteristics.
- Hands-on experience with equipment testing and troubleshooting.
- Experience in experimental testing in academic or industrial settings.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Catia V5, V6, or Solidworks) and programming languages (LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python).
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods for prototyping and testing.
