Responsibilities
- Assess lithium-ion battery performance and longevity in field conditions using existing models.
- Design standard and accelerated test protocols based on real-world scenarios.
- Analyze lab test data to predict cell product field reliability.
- Partner with teams on failure analysis to determine root causes and implement mitigation strategies.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Leverage fleet insights to improve reliability forecasts and testing methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineering teams on emerging cell technologies.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Deep knowledge of lithium-ion cell chemistry and degradation mechanisms.
- Proficiency in programming with experience in Python and SQL.
- Familiarity with Spark and Apache Airflow is preferred.
- Background in statistical analysis is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.
