Responsibilities

  • Design and build hardware for power electronics converters for automotive and energy storage applications.
  • Take ownership of hardware from specification to design, prototype, reliability validation, and high-volume manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, PCB layout, and firmware engineering teams for successful design and validation.
  • Develop new power converter topologies to enhance performance.
  • Advance Tau's intellectual property in power electronic systems.
  • Conduct testing and benchmarking of power electronics systems.
  • Contribute to the technology roadmap and product deployment with commercial partners.

Job Requirements

  • 1-3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Familiarity with AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC applications and control of variable frequency converters.
  • Strong understanding of power electronics topologies and high voltage power semiconductor selection.
  • Experience with loss modeling and switching waveforms.
  • Proficiency with tools like PLECS, PSCAD/EMTDC, MATLAB/Simulink, and dSPACE.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design principles.
  • Master's or PhD degree in relevant engineering fields is desirable.
