Responsibilities

  • Define requirements for motor control software and interfacing hardware components.
  • Drive design of and implement motor controller functionality and algorithms.
  • Test, validate, and troubleshoot controller implementation.
  • Develop and validate motor control algorithms in laboratory and vehicle settings.
  • Influence research and development in component technologies for inverter/motor designs.
  • Advance Tau's intellectual property in electric motor design and controls.
  • Collaborate with teams across various engineering disciplines.

Job Requirements

  • 1-3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong fundamentals in AC electric motors and drive systems.
  • Proficiency in embedded firmware development in C/C++.
  • Experience with model development and data analysis in Python or Matlab/Simulink.
  • Strong communication skills and preference for teamwork.
  • Desired: Master or PhD in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or mechatronics with a focus on control systems.
  • Familiarity with motor control techniques and various PWM schemes.
