Responsibilities

  • Define requirements for motor control software and interfacing hardware components.
  • Design and implement motor controller functionality and algorithms.
  • Translate algorithms into software and integrate them into the firmware framework.
  • Test, validate, and troubleshoot controller implementations.
  • Develop and validate motor control algorithms in laboratory and in-vehicle settings.
  • Influence research and development in technologies affecting inverter/motor designs.
  • Advance Tau's intellectual property in electric motor design and controls.

Job Requirements

  • 1-3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong fundamentals of AC electric motors and drive systems.
  • Proficiency in embedded firmware development in C/C++.
  • Experience with model development and data analysis in Python or Matlab/Simulink.
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork preference.
  • Desired: Master or PhD in electrical engineering or related field focusing on control systems.
  • Knowledge of motor control techniques and safety requirements relevant to power converters.
