Responsibilities
- Daily operation of laboratory-scale chemical reactors
- Routine synthesis and processing of various materials, both powder and liquid
- Interpreting and performing physical, chemical, and mechanical characterization of synthesized materials
- Analyzing data, interpreting results, and presenting conclusions to the team
- Facilitate planning, installation, and assembly of new equipment
- Document process operations and participate in safety reviews/planning
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting and repair of pilot equipment
Job Requirements
- Actively pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of engineering fundamentals applied to chemical process design and operation
- Ability to lift objects up to 50lbs and work on ladders
- Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Desire to learn new processes and skills on-the-job
- Familiarity with characterization techniques (e.g., Laser Diffraction, ICP-OES, SEM)
- Good balance, perspective, and sense of humor
