Responsibilities
- Own the design and development of next generation structures, mechanisms, and hardware
- Perform hand calculations to develop, assess, and optimize designs
- Rapidly iterate on manufacturing processes and development testing in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure hardware integrates with builds and supports necessary mission operations
- Lead design reviews internally and externally with suppliers and customers
- Negotiate complex trade studies to optimize for cost, schedule, safety, and performance
- Create original CAD designs and maintain build schedules
Job Requirements
- 4+ years in Mechanical Design experience within the Aerospace and Defense industry
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering
- Proficiency in design/programming tools such as AutoCAD, Creo, SolidWorks, Python, and Jira
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working in a cross-functional team environment
- Involvement in a professional engineering society or collegiate design project
