We are looking for a thoughtful and detail-oriented Sr. Electrical Engineer to lead the rapid design, testing, and qualification of power subsystems and digital control hardware. This role involves architecting and designing high-reliability power electronics for aerospace customers while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to verify new products. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and expertise in configuration management are essential.
Responsibilities
- Support full life cycle development of new hardware from concept to production.
- Ensures that the highest quality standards are being followed throughout the design cycle
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment is maintained
- Follow RTCA/DO-254 process documentation and standard operating procedures
- Hold and attend various meetings to lead and provide effective communication
- Experience designing for robust EMC requirements (MIL-STD-461, DO-160, UL, CE)
- Knowledge of Power Supply Topologies (Buck/Boost/Cuk/Flyback/Half-Bridge/Full-Bridge)
- Prior experience with RF systems is preferred
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of experience designing high reliability electronics from functional requirements
- Component level understanding of power converter topologies
- Ability to make recommendations based on architectural trade offs
- Knowledge of the design of customer transformers and magnetics
- Experience working with PCB designers to develop robust board requirements
- Design Rules, Layer Stack Up, Trace Widths, Clearances)
- Demonstrated knowledge of mixed-signal circuit design
- Processors, I2C, SPI, operational amplifiers, analog to digital and digital to analog converters,
- Must be able to work in a lab environment and troubleshoot problems using equipment
- Strong understanding of programming languages is preferred (Python, C/C++)
- Familiar with Altium Designer for Schematic and Layout Capture
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is required
