The role is for a Senior Automation & Controls Engineer focused on hardware at SpaceX's rocket launch facility, responsible for designing and improving electrical and control systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, operate, install, and test low-power electrical systems.
- Manage ground support control and instrumentation systems for launch operations.
- Oversee ground support equipment (GSE) build, checkouts, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain data acquisition system hardware and network infrastructure.
- Create electrical schematics and build junction boxes for instrumentation.
- Write procedures for routine tasks and troubleshooting.
- Provide innovative solutions for equipment and installation challenges.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 5+ years of experience with instrumentation power systems and low-power systems.
- Proficiency in electronics test rack design and data acquisition setup.
- Experience in robotics, automotive, aircraft, or related fields.
- Familiarity with electrical test equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and perform fieldwork.
