Sr. Automation & Controls Engineer (Launch Hardware)

The role is for a Senior Automation & Controls Engineer focused on hardware at SpaceX's rocket launch facility, responsible for designing and improving electrical and control systems.

• Design, operate, install, and test low-power electrical systems.
• Manage ground support control and instrumentation systems for launch operations.
• Oversee ground support equipment (GSE) build, checkouts, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain data acquisition system hardware and network infrastructure.
• Create electrical schematics and build junction boxes for instrumentation.
• Write procedures for routine tasks and troubleshooting.
• Provide innovative solutions for equipment and installation challenges.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 5+ years of experience with instrumentation power systems and low-power systems.
• Proficiency in electronics test rack design and data acquisition setup.
• Experience in robotics, automotive, aircraft, or related fields.
• Familiarity with electrical test equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments and perform fieldwork.
