Space Lasers Engineer, Electro-Optical (Starlink)

The Space Lasers Engineer will work on the development, production, and deployment of satellite free-space optical communication systems for SpaceX's Starlink project, focusing on laser communication technologies.

• Develop and validate laser communication systems.
• Implement algorithms and digital signal processing for communication.
• Define requirements for high-data-rate systems in challenging conditions.
• Lead architecture definition and conduct verification testing.
• Review test data and resolve anomalies.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and software teams.
• Maintain documentation and system capabilities data.

• Bachelor’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in optics, photonics, or laser technology.
• Proficiency in a programming language (C++, LabVIEW, Python).
• Experience in circuit board design and algorithm development.
• Knowledge of digital communication systems.
• Experience with hardware development for high-reliability applications.
