Responsibilities
- Serve as the responsible engineer for design, analysis, fabrication, qualification, and flight operation of solar arrays and electromechanical components.
- Perform in-depth first principles analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) to optimize designs.
- Use CAD and FEA software packages proficiently.
- Drive conceptual design and component level trades.
- Hold design reviews and participate in supplier/customer reviews.
- Drive technology improvements and collaborate with various teams for component success.
- Ensure compliance with project timelines, including extended hours if necessary.
Job Requirements
- Experience with CAD and FEA software.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or STEM discipline.
- Expertise in design, CAD, FEA, and hardware environmental qualification tests.
- Knowledge of power components, including solar cell fundamentals and battery monitoring techniques.
- Hands-on experience with mechanism/structures design and precision mechanical assembly.
- Understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of mechanical systems.
- Excellent communication skills for teamwork and collaboration.
