Responsibilities
- Own hardware from conceptual design through high volume production and ground station operation
- Design the factory and processes for rapid, reliable, and low-cost manufacturing
- Develop, characterize, and produce new materials
- Rapidly iterate on designs, analysis, and tests to inform system-level optimization
- Establish an efficient product lifecycle from supply chain to final integration
- Perform environmental and performance testing on hardware
- Work with partner teams to develop novel manufacturing procedures
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or STEM discipline
- 1+ years of professional experience with mechanical/electromechanical design, analysis, testing, and/or manufacturing
- Master’s degree in engineering is preferred
- 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and analysis is preferred
- Experience transitioning products from design to manufacturing and scaling to high volume
- Understanding of fundamental principles in materials science and solid mechanics
- Self-motivated with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
