Mechanical Design Engineer (Propulsion Components)

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, develop, and ensure flight readiness of valves, regulators, and actuators.
  • Support and document component anomalies at build, test, or launch sites.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on investigations related to valves and vehicles.
  • Generate detailed drawings and coordinate valve manufacturing with the production team.
  • Maintain component specifications and execute qualification test plans.
  • Lead root cause investigations and redesigns to enhance reliability or production rates.
  • Certify hardware for crewed flight and communicate analysis and test results effectively.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics.
  • 1+ years of experience in designing and analyzing mechanical systems.
  • Preferred: Master's degree or additional experience in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Understanding of fluid systems and solid mechanics principles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for problem-solving.
  • Hands-on experience with fluid and/or gas handling systems.
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical devices and relevant test instrumentation.
