Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues during development.
- Perform functional experiments on the proprietary device for characterization and validation.
- Coordinate with external subcontractors and suppliers to support prototype fabrication and assembly.
- Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks or Onshape) to modify and optimize designs for manufacturability.
- Write and utilize Python scripts for automation, data collection, and system control.
- Integrate 3D printing and other prototyping techniques into the development process.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of hands-on experience in prototype assembly, troubleshooting, and testing.
- Experience with Python for automation and system integration.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or Onshape) for prototype modification.
- Familiarity with 3D printing, rapid prototyping, and manufacturing techniques.
- Experience working with external subcontractors and suppliers for fabrication and assembly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Preferred: Experience working with liquid-handling robots and in a MedTech or BioTech startup environment.
