Responsibilities
- Create reliable and scalable designs.
- Develop hardware products from initial brainstorming to final manufacturing.
- Conduct FEA simulation of components focusing on fatigue, torsion, and bending.
- Design components for manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA).
- Stay updated on industry best practices in materials, manufacturing methods, and hardware design.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing, assembly, and field use issues.
- Coordinate with software and electrical engineers to meet all project requirements.
Job Requirements
- Experience in designing, manufacturing, troubleshooting, and debugging prototype hardware.
- BS/MS/Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
- FEA experience with static, dynamic, and thermal simulation (3+ years in Ansys or similar).
- Proficiency in CAD (2+ years in Fusion 360 / Solidworks / Inventor, etc.).
- Background in scalable DFM/DFA products and knowledge of casting, injection molding, and machining.
- Experience in gearbox development (sintered metal/cut gears).
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping development from basic models to 3D printing and CNC prototypes.
