The Recovery Engineering Intern at Rocket Lab will support the Neutron Recovery Team in designing Recovery and Marine Transportation hardware, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with mentors and team members to apply engineering concepts.
  • Participate in design and development projects related to recovery hardware.
  • Attend regular 1:1 meetings for progress updates and learning.
  • Engage in tech talks and networking events with other interns and employees.
  • Contribute to problem-solving in real engineering challenges.
  • Support the development of marine transportation hardware for Neutron.
  • Thrive in a team-focused environment, adapting to changing situations.

Job Requirements

  • Enrollment in a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate program in engineering, physics, or math.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0, with a preference for 3.5 or above.
  • At least 3 months of applied engineering experience (internship, lab work, or projects).
  • Ability to work full-time on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks.
  • Excitement for working in high-performing teams and tackling ambiguity.
  • Experience with marine hardware or CAD/CAM is a plus.
  • Knowledge of flight hardware recovery operations is beneficial.
