The Recovery Engineering Intern at Rocket Lab will support the Neutron Recovery Team in designing hardware for recovery and marine transportation. The position is based in Long Beach, California, and is aimed at students in engineering, physics, or math disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with a mentor and other team members to enhance technical skills.
  • Apply engineering concepts to real-world challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in regular one-on-one meetings with mentors and supervisors.
  • Engage in tech talks and networking events with other interns and employees.
  • Collaborate on development projects and deliver results.
  • Contribute to the design of Recovery and Marine Transportation hardware.
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above while enrolled in an engineering program.

Job Requirements

  • Enrollment in a bachelor’s, master's, or doctorate program in engineering, physics, or math.
  • At least one semester of school remaining post-internship.
  • Minimum of 3 months of applied engineering experience.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations and work in high-performing teams.
  • Experience with marine hardware and CAD/CAM is preferred.
  • Knowledge of flight hardware recovery operations is a plus.
  • Must be able to work full-time on-site for a minimum of 12 weeks.
