The role is for a Fluid Component Intern at Rocket Lab in Long Beach, California, where the intern will support the Neutron team in procuring hardware and testing components. The position involves working with fluid components for rockets and satellites.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with mentors and team members to apply engineering knowledge.
  • Engage in problem-solving within a fast-paced environment.
  • Attend 1:1 meetings with mentors for progress updates.
  • Participate in tech talks and networking events with interns and employees.
  • Assist in the first build and testing of components.
  • Perform qualification tests to ensure components meet flight requirements.
  • Support the design and manufacturing processes of fluid components.

Job Requirements

  • Enrollment in an engineering, physics, or math degree program with at least one semester remaining.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • At least 3 months of applied engineering experience.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.5 or above.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM, CNC, and 3D printing.
  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site for a minimum of 12 weeks.
