Responsibilities
- Be part of the EE failure analysis team and collaborate with engineers in Irvine and Normal, IL.
- Conduct deep dive and rapid response triage failure analysis investigations.
- Understand electrical testing methods and procure necessary HVEE failure analysis equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define needs for failure analysis and manufacturing processes.
- Perform failure analysis for incidents from reliability testing and fielded systems.
- Prepare detailed failure analysis reports and present findings to project teams.
- Utilize environmental testing equipment to recreate failure modes for analysis.
Job Requirements
- MSc/PhD in Electrical Engineering with 10/5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Strong background in testing and analysis of EE components and energy storage systems.
- Experience in performing failure analysis investigations.
- Hands-on experience with metrology equipment for HVEE failure analysis.
- Familiarity with rechargeable lithium-ion battery chemistries and failure mechanisms.
- Experience preparing formal reports summarizing analysis data.
- Desire to foster a respectful and inclusive team culture.
