Sr. Range & Efficiency Development Engineer

The Sr. Range & Efficiency (R&E) Development Engineer at Rivian is responsible for supporting the R&E Attributes process, including test planning, data analysis, and vehicle level validation. The role involves collaboration with various teams to ensure efficient testing and development of electric vehicles.

• Schedule test tracks and prioritize resource use for development deadlines.
• Execute vehicle level efficiency test activities per developed test plans.
• Conduct vehicle test procedures and perform data analysis.
• Collaborate with teams to validate energy consumption at vehicle level.
• Instrument vehicles with data acquisition hardware for data collection.
• Update DVP timing and vehicle test blocks during development.
• Conduct benchmarking with competitive vehicles for range and efficiency.

• Hands-on knowledge of range and dynamometer testing procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple test activities for different programs.
• Working knowledge of vehicle communication network systems (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
• Experience in data analysis and test scripting/automation (C/C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink).
• Experience in battery powered electric vehicles and powertrains.
• Understanding of measurement equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Excellent communication skills in technical and non-technical environments.
