Responsibilities
- Design and release electronics packaging for Rivian's internally designed components.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to define packaging space requirements.
- Design enclosures and mechanical assemblies for various vehicle systems, ensuring compliance with automotive requirements.
- Manage production by optimizing designs for high-volume manufacturing and reviewing manufacturing drawings.
- Conduct mechanical validation and simulations for thermal and vibration durability.
- Integrate designs within the vehicle, ensuring proper mounting and mechanical performance.
- Aid in fixture design and failure analysis for environmental durability and reliability standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with die-casting, sheet metal stamping, and injection molded plastics.
- Proficient in CAD tools, preferably Catia V5 or V6.
- Knowledge of mechanical constraints for PCBAs and collaboration with Electrical Engineers.
- Experience with thermal and mechanical simulations, preferably Ansys.
- Familiarity with GD&T requirements and high-volume production.
- Expertise in tooling design and mechanical shock and vibration considerations.
