Responsibilities

  • Recommend and approve changes in construction drawings or specifications.
  • Solve simple and complex engineering problems.
  • Layout construction plans.
  • Direct the activities of employees or crews on job assignments requiring construction engineering expertise.
  • Audit work under construction for compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Develop project timelines and milestones; perform scheduling and forecasting.
  • Inspect and monitor the work of contractors to assure compliance with specifications and plans.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or 2 years of experience with supplemental education.
  • Valid California Driver's License or ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, extended hours, nights, weekends, and/or overtime.
  • Construction or surveying experience is desired.
  • Previous experience with SAP, scheduling, and electric construction field experience is preferred.
  • Strong math and computer skills, including Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and Office.
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate is a plus.
