Responsibilities
- Design primary and secondary aircraft structural parts and assemblies using metallic and composite materials.
- Lead and collaborate within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to prepare engineering design solutions.
- Interface with IPT leadership, suppliers, customers, and other technical disciplines.
- Produce flight weight structures in collaboration with structural analysis and manufacturing teams.
- Employ GD&T and Model Based Engineering (MBE) methods for airframe layouts.
- Document best practices and mentor less experienced engineers.
- Assist in the development of Product Definition Packages for challenging problems.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM field with 5 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years, or PhD with no experience.
- Experience in designing composite aircraft parts and assemblies.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government Secret clearance.
- Preferred degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency with NX Solid Modelling or similar 3D modeling software.
- Understanding of GD&T and MBE methods.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
