The role is a summer internship focused on thermal mechanical engineering, involving thermal simulations, hardware identification, data analysis, and the full lifecycle of spacecraft thermal control subsystems.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of or contribute to the design, analysis, documentation, and testing of spacecraft thermal control subsystems and components.
  • Propose and iterate on improvements for new and existing thermal hardware.
  • Write and monitor thermal tests to characterize performance.
  • Conduct analysis to support development and testing.
  • Collaborate with aerospace professionals for mentorship and guidance.
  • Engage in various tasks related to the thermal control subsystem lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the startup's programs.

Job Requirements

  • Experience with thermal testing and analysis.
  • Skills in test planning, execution, and presentation creation.
  • Relevant coursework or experience in Thermodynamics, Numerical Analysis, Finite Elements, Software Engineering, or Project Engineering.
  • A portfolio showcasing thermal design, analysis, integration, and testing work.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of physics and orbital mechanics is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Thermal Desktop is a nice-to-have.
