Responsibilities
- Contribute to mechanical solutions as part of a highly cross-functional team
- Model, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems
- Work across the full product development cycle, from concept inception to shipping product
- Collaborate and manage work with Asia-based Supply Chain
- Push state-of-the-art technologies and approaches to solving complex mechanical problems
- Design modules and subsystems using CAD software
- Travel to external vendors up to 15%
Job Requirements
- Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field
- Understanding of material properties, including plastics, metals, adhesives, and glass
- Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing techniques
- Demonstrated understanding of mechanical constraints systems and part tolerancing
- Experience working independently and navigating ambiguous situations
- 1+ year experience with engineering fundamentals, including Mechanics of Solids and Thermodynamics
