Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design for specific components, features, or systems.
- Contribute to mechanical solutions as part of a cross-functional team.
- Model, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems.
- Work across the full product development cycle, from concept to shipping product.
- Collaborate and manage work with Asia-based Supply Chain.
- Push technologies and approaches to solve complex mechanical problems.
- Travel to external vendors up to 20%.
Job Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8+ years of industry experience in mechanical design.
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Working knowledge of material properties (plastics, metal, adhesive, glass).
- Testing and analysis experience (FEA, Simulation, Design of Experiments).
- Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing techniques (stamping, machining, injection molding).
- Preferred: history of developing a mechanical team and extensive patent portfolio.
