The Electrical Engineering Intern role at Mercury Systems involves supporting hardware design, development, integration, and testing, while working closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team. The intern will gain hands-on experience across the full hardware development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Support hardware design, development, integration, and testing with experienced electrical engineers.
  • Participate in schematic design, layout support, design verification testing (DVT), validation, and optimization.
  • Design, develop, and verify complex circuits or submodules using schematic capture tools.
  • Assist with product validation testing such as EMC, power, thermal, and environmental stress screening.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Software, and Procurement.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and field failure investigations to support production.
  • Create and maintain Bills of Material (BoMs/PLs) and draft Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.1.
  • Basic understanding of high-speed digital and analog circuitry, power management, and EMI.
  • Familiarity with electronic schematic tools and digital test equipment.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Exposure to manufacturing techniques and hands-on lab experience preferred.
