The role of a Propulsion Engineer focuses on supporting NASA's deep space exploration projects, particularly in the design and development of propulsion and fluid systems. The engineer will work with a diverse team to address unique problems and contribute to certification processes for rocket components.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for national and international customers related to propulsion systems.
  • Write technical and progress reports for other technical groups and agencies.
  • Resolve unique problems related to propulsion subsystems.
  • Support flight Anomaly Resolution and In-Flight Investigation reviews.
  • Track and present weekly status on propulsion-related document reviews and actions.
  • Coordinate with NASA Test & Verification leads on document reviews.
  • Serve as the point of contact for software-related propulsion changes and hazard report reviews.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2-5 years of experience in the field.
  • Ability to work independently and provide technical reviews.
  • Experience with propulsion or fluid systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB for flight data review.
  • CAD software modeling capability, such as Creo.
  • Analytical modeling experience with tools like ANSYS/FEA.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass a security background investigation.
