The role of a Propulsion Engineer focuses on supporting NASA's deep space exploration projects, particularly in the design and development of propulsion and fluid systems. The engineer will work with a diverse team to address unique problems and contribute to certification processes for rocket components.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for national and international customers related to propulsion systems.
- Write technical and progress reports for other technical groups and agencies.
- Resolve unique problems related to propulsion subsystems.
- Support flight Anomaly Resolution and In-Flight Investigation reviews.
- Track and present weekly status on propulsion-related document reviews and actions.
- Coordinate with NASA Test & Verification leads on document reviews.
- Serve as the point of contact for software-related propulsion changes and hazard report reviews.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2-5 years of experience in the field.
- Ability to work independently and provide technical reviews.
- Experience with propulsion or fluid systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with MATLAB for flight data review.
- CAD software modeling capability, such as Creo.
- Analytical modeling experience with tools like ANSYS/FEA.
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass a security background investigation.
