The Mechanical Engineer - Thermal R&D role focuses on developing innovative thermal management solutions for military, governmental, and commercial applications, including hypersonic vehicles and laser weapons.
Responsibilities
- Develop cutting-edge thermal products tailored to customer needs.
- Design and analyze systems including pumped loops and thermal management solutions.
- Lead projects from conception to production, including ideation and experimental testing.
- Utilize advanced techniques like microchannel cooling and additive manufacturing.
- Conduct analytical calculations and computational simulations (CFD and FEA).
- Engage in hands-on laboratory testing and prototype builds.
- Write proposals for new ideas and interface directly with customers.
Job Requirements
- BSME or MSME degree required.
- US Citizenship required due to ITAR regulations.
- Minimum GPA of 3.3 for all degrees.
- Strong understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
- Hands-on laboratory test experience is essential.
- Experience with data acquisition systems (LabVIEW preferred).
- Familiarity with CFD/FEA modeling (ANSYS/FLUENT) is a plus.
