Responsibilities
- Design, calculate, simulate, and analyze mechanical and electrical components for rotating equipment using SolidWorks and CAD software.
- Validate components and assemblies through inspection, testing, and reporting according to performance test codes.
- Sustain and support products throughout their lifecycle using change management processes.
- Collaborate with a team of engineers and vendors for product design and manufacturing.
- Utilize industrial measurement equipment and methods for testing.
- Engage in creative problem-solving and idea generation within the team.
- Apply knowledge of testing methods and mechanical systems in product development.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of professional experience in rotating equipment.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or related CAD software.
- Experience in the design and manufacture of geared components.
- Familiarity with working with outside vendors such as machine shops and foundries.
- Knowledge of testing methods and mechanical systems including fluid film bearings and gears.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
