Mechanical Engineer

Lime is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop lightweight electric vehicles and micromobility infrastructure, contributing to their mission of affordable and carbon-free transportation. The role is based in the SF Bay Area and involves hands-on work in hardware development.

• Define, design, and deliver lightweight electric vehicles and micromobility infrastructure.
• Own development of subsystems with moderate complexity.
• Create detailed mechanical designs in CAD.
• Build prototypes in metalworking and 3D print shop.
• Collaborate with Operations for design simplicity and robustness.
• Devise tests and proof of concepts for new ideas.
• Release technical documentation using GD&T best practices.

• BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of mechanical design work experience.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
• Familiarity with designing plastic and metal parts.
• Experience with tolerance analyses and GD&T.
• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly.
• Hands-on prototyping and validation skills.
