Specialist, Test Engineer

The Specialist, Test Engineer at L3Harris Technologies will join the Systems Test and Launch Operations team, focusing on the integration and testing of space-bound hypersonic launch vehicles at the Cape Canaveral location.

• Perform integration, testing, and assembly of multi-stage missile systems or comparable aerospace hardware.
• Support system-level functional hardware testing.
• Operate basic electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and digital multi-meters.
• Use specialized support and handling equipment for system-level testing and troubleshooting.
• Generate, author, and maintain standard test, build, and operations procedures.
• Travel for extended periods both inside and outside of the continental U.S.
• Maintain an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

• Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with 2 years of experience, or 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Excellent mechanical skills and ability to read complex technical drawings.
• Ability to meet USAF Aerospace Physiological standards and perform launch duties aboard USAF aircraft.
• Previous military or FAA Airframe and Power Plant mechanic experience is desirable.
• Willingness to work with ordnance devices and complete requisite training and certification.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, and solid computer skills with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with environmental testing and instrumentation is desirable.
