Responsibilities
- Develop CFD models of high-temperature test systems, including heat transfer and fluid flow.
- Validate CFD models with in-house experimental data.
- Collaborate with engineers on data production and post-processing for CFD validation.
- Document and recommend improvements to CFD modeling methodologies.
- Create and maintain automation scripts for data analysis and reporting.
- Present validation results and findings through technical documentation and presentations.
- Communicate results with various teams, including Reactor Systems Design and Testing teams.
Job Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a BS, MS, or PhD program in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience with CFD tools for fluid and heat transfer analyses.
- 2+ years of experience using commercial CFD tools, preferably Siemens STAR-CCM+.
- Familiarity with Solidworks or STAR-CCM+ 3D CAD is preferred.
- Programming/scripting experience for automation and post-processing.
- Coursework or experience in heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
