Responsibilities
- Provide vision for the mechanical engineering team and foster an environment that encourages creativity and execution.
- Develop compelling product architectures and define product pillars with senior management.
- Set priorities and focus the team for success in complex situations.
- Establish group goals consistent with overall product development objectives.
- Manage and mentor mechanical engineers while assessing employee performance.
- Ensure compliance with FDA requirements and manage design history files.
- Support cross-functional teams in the development and transfer of designs.
Job Requirements
- Minimum BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field with at least 5 years of experience in product design.
- Direct experience in designing products with precision opto-mechanical sub-systems.
- Proven ability to manage suppliers and work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of CAD tools and design for reliability and manufacturability.
- Experience in regulated environments and with project management.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Preferred: MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering and experience with opto-mechanical designs.
