Responsibilities
- Design and build teleoperated, free-flying robots and manipulation systems for space.
- Create CAD models, engineering drawings, and fabrication specifications.
- Perform structural, thermal, and vibration analyses for space operations.
- Design, run, and analyze component and system level tests.
- Collaborate with in-house tools and contract manufacturers for prototyping and manufacturing.
- Work with NASA and commercial space partners for systems preparation for orbital deployment.
- Shape systems and culture as one of the earliest technical hires.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or similar).
- Experience with FEA, structural dynamics, vibration, or thermal analysis.
- Knowledge of aerospace/robotics materials and manufacturing methods.
- Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping, fabrication, and mechanical testing.
- Nice-to-have: experience with real-world robotics or drones, and designing space systems.
