Responsibilities
- Own and understand subsystem designs (electromagnetic, structural, fluid, thermal, and control systems)
- Learn from historical engineering approaches and design novel hardware
- Design fusion hardware using 3D CAD software (e.g., NX, Solidworks)
- Perform analysis with tools like ANSYS and conduct design reviews
- Work hands-on with technicians to implement hardware designs
- Troubleshoot hardware issues on integrated fusion generators
- Act as a culture driver on a growing engineering team
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 8+ years of professional experience in engineering projects
- Experience applying engineering first-principles and method-based thinking
- Hands-on exposure to various engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, fluids)
- Advanced experience with CAD software (e.g., NX, Solidworks)
- Moderate experience with FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, FEMAP)
- Moderate experience with GD&T and generating engineering drawings per ASME Y14.5
