Responsibilities
- Perform design and development in mechanical, thermal, thermodynamic, or heat transfer areas.
- Lead development of strategic tasks or small to mid-size projects.
- Provide technical input to project management to achieve business goals.
- Monitor projects from initiation through delivery, including planning and budgeting.
- Plan and execute small to mid-size projects or task elements within larger projects.
- Mentor lower labor grades in mechanical principles and project performance.
- Actively identify technical and organizational risks and ensure they are included in risk mitigation plans.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 2+ years of job-related experience or 6 months with a Master's degree.
- Proficiency with solid modeling CAD tools (e.g., Creo).
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools (e.g., ANSYS) is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to write technical papers and proposals.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Experience in mechanical testing such as pyroshock, vibration, and thermal vacuum testing.
