Manufacturing Engineer Intern

The role is for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) who will apply engineering skills to support national defense projects.

• Develops, implements, and maintains manufacturing processes for sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
• Estimates manufacturing costs and recommends tooling and process requirements.
• Maintains records and reporting systems for manufacturing operations.
• Evaluates and improves manufacturing methods using knowledge of design, materials, and production processes.
• Implements and analyzes manufacturing engineering plans and projects.
• Supports the generation of technical engineering products throughout the system development life cycle.
• Documents procedures, process qualifications, and work instructions.

• Enrollment in an accredited degree program in engineering or related discipline (sophomore or higher preferred).
• Understanding of engineering technology.
• U.S. citizenship required due to the nature of work.
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control standards.
• Familiarity with six sigma methodology for quality initiatives.
